PAULA RED
NO UPICK AVAILABLE. Early tart - It has a firm white flesh. Becomes very soft when cooked. Great for
sauce and eating. suitable for both eating fresh and cooking, although they become
extremely soft when cooked, which suits them to some dishes (applesauce) and not
others (pies).

ZESTAR
NO UPICK AVAILABLE. Tastes sweet and tangy, with accents of brown sugar, and is known for its unique flavor. The apple is best used for fresh eating, and for use in a variety of baked goods,
sauces, desserts, and salads. The fruit can be well paired with foods such as walnuts,
cinnamon, cheddar cheeses, and brown sugar.

MCINTOSH
UPICK AVAILABLE. Mildly tart, juicy, has a tender flesh that easily breaks down when cooked, making it a great choice for sauce. Good to eat fresh as well.

GOLDEN SUPREME

CORTLAND
NO UPICK AVAILABLE. Their crisp, finely grained white flesh is exceptionally juicy with a sharp, sweet-tart flavor. The Cortland is a relatively soft apple, although not quite as soft as the McIntosh.
And unlike the McIntosh, the Cortland functions as an all-purpose apple, which means
you can bake it, cook it, or eat it raw.

EMPIRE

UPICK AVAILABLE. A Michigan classic. Ida Red also has a tangy flavor like Jonathan. They are both sweet and tart, juicy yet crisp and firm. Ida Red apples make beautiful applesauce. Ida Reds keep their shape during baking and are also excellent in salads and for freezing. Firm tart juicy excellent for baking a good keeper.

GOLDEN DELICIOUS
UPICK AVAILABLE. Very sweet to the taste. It is a favorite for salads, apple sauce, and apple butter. The sweet tartness of the Golden Delicious means this apple is a good fresh eating variety. Fresh, raw apple slices may be added to green salads, fruit salads, or grain salads. ... The Golden Delicious pairs well with savory items, such as onions, cabbages, pork, cheeses and strong herbs.

Northern Spy
UPICK AVAILABLE. It imparts a bit of a tartness in its bite, but more of a cider-quality flavor with hints of pear and sweetness. The Northern Spy is as versatile as apples come. They can be served raw, baked, roasted, sautéed or slow cooked to a puree. Perfect for use in classic apple preparations such as pies, tarts and cobblers. Red Delicious
UPICK AVAILABLE. Has a sweet but very mild flavor, somewhat reminiscent of slightly over-ripe melon. The flesh is juicy and has a light crispness. The skin can be quite tough. Best used in fresh preparations, as their flesh does not hold up well when cooked. Add to green, fruit and chopped salads.
